Pedro Acosta Eyes Title Challenge in Second KTM Factory Season
Pedro Acosta has declared himself ready for a full title assault in 2026 after an encouraging debut factory season that saw him claim four victories and finish fifth in the championship. The young Spaniard, who turned 21 during the winter break, says the off-season development work by KTM has addressed many of the bike's weaknesses.
The RC16 has received a significant engine upgrade, new aerodynamics, and a revised chassis that Acosta says gives him more confidence on corner entry — an area where he struggled at several circuits last year.
'I finished 2025 knowing where we needed to improve. The engineers listened and delivered. The new bike feels more natural to ride. I'm not saying we will win the title, but I believe we can fight for it consistently,' Acosta said during the Red Bull KTM team presentation.
